Doubt

"There are people who go after your humanity, that tell you that the light in your heart is a weakness. Don't believe it. It's an old tactic of cruel people to kill kindness in the name of virtue."

Words to live by.

Learning Experience

Several years ago, a female coworker of mine invited me out for drinks. I was going to video game school, not thinking too hard about life and I thought it'd be fun to hang out. She was/is very pretty and had on and off boyfriends during the entire time I worked at the shop, so why would she be interested in a country bumpkin like myself, right? I did have a crush on her for the duration of my time working at the company. We started out with lots and lots of alcohol at a local pub, talked about various topics, one of which included her current boyfriend woes. After we got loaded, we started to stagger back to where she was house-sitting, a block or two away from where I was living at the time. On the walk, she stopped to show me her tattoo, located on her upper thigh. Yeah, pants down on the sidewalk, she had plain white panties, amazing legs and a very nice tattoo. But she had a boyfriend. After mischievously sneaking through people's yards and running drunkenly around on a field, we got to our destination whereupon we grabbed a bottle of wine and took the dog for a midnight walk. Ended up sitting in a dugout at a local ball park, sharing the wine. After this, I thanked her for a great evening and went home. She even walked me to the front gate.

This memory just popped into my head while packing up my worldly goods. I paused to relish how much of an exquisite idiot I am.
At least I'm able to learn and laugh about the whole thing. Did I do nothing because I cock-block myself with rigorous moral codes that I can't shake even when blindingly drunk? Did I do nothing because I don't connect dots very well? I utterly fail at reading between lines.

Oh well, there's always the next time a beautiful redhead takes me out for drinks. :P

Awolnation

You've probably heard their song 'Sail' on the radio, but I prefer Kill Your Heroes. As a person who's attempting to be less of an introvert, songs that encourage are always nice.

Was on the bus

...reading The Road. A lady told me that the book I was reading was very evil.
Bleak, for sure, but not evil, I thought.

Prepare your face for some drum and bass.

Why don't we dance?

This is a question that has popped up into my mind every so often. When you think of the 'clubbing' or 'pub' scene, you think of the bump and grind, the flailing of limbs and not much more. Whilst this is all well and good, I can't help watching or talking to friends who engage in fast/blues dancing and see an immense appeal in that grace and dexterity. Especially since I've not been a very graceful person my whole life.

Can't we bring this sort of thing back, too?

Anyways, just a bit of a ramble. Life has been great, it looks like summer is finally beginning to arrive and I look forward to doing some hiking in the next little bit. If I do, expect pictures.

This madam has an excellent voice and employs a variety of styles to make great music.

From her album ArchAndroid.
And Many Moons.

I'm keeping it short today. Here is a picture of a sunset.
